Genevieve Monastesse was born in Montreal, the circus capital of the world, where she studied circus, music, and theatre. After graduating from the National Circus School of Montreal, she worked in Cirque du Soleil for two years on their very first show to win the government funding the company needed to buy their own circus tent!

Genevieve then moved to Europe and forged an illustrious career as an aerialist through performing in music videos (George Michael’s ‘Spinning the Wheel’), films (‘Ella Enchanted’, ‘Fairy Tale: A True Story’), theatre (‘The Bartered Bride’ at the Royal Opera House), and charity gala events (Amnesty International, Save the Children). She has performed live in front of royalty at the Queen’s birthday gala, been featured in countless fashion shows and commercials, and doubled for Kate Moss as her stuntwoman.

Genevieve has taught circus arts for nearly 30 years and is respected as one of the best aerial teachers in Europe. She is now based in London and teaches aerial skills on the Degree Programme at the National Centre of Circus Arts, one of Europe's leading provider of circus education; her students are some of the successful aerialists that you will have seen performing worldwide.

Genevieve is CRB checked and public liability insured. She also has certificates in first aid and safe guard.
